Watching the video titled ‘First Light’ by the celebrated visionary director Jonathan Glazer for Alexander McQueen showcasing the women’s SS’21 and men’s PF AW’21 had the moodiness and aura of a post apocalyptic world, albeit everyone dressed in exquisite clothes.

The collection has the razor sharp cuts that Alexander McQueen is famous for along with a mix of volumes - corset bodice with full midi-skirt lengths; coats with oversized rounded sleeves and cinched waists. The collection had no external embellishments, rather using painted fabric or a mix of different fabrics to add to the otherwise clean palette of white, black, dusty rose and flesh tones. Pieces from the men’s PF’21 collection shown in the video were also equally interesting in silhouette and style - skinny leather pants and moto jackets along with sharply tailored suits.

The new, beautifully structured bucket bag ‘The Curve’ has a cameo in the video. This new addition to the house of McQueen, with details reminiscent of the iconic harness silhouette, is seen in the palest of blush, but also comes in a variety of colors including lime, yellow, black and denim.
