DOLCE & GABBANA KEEPS UP WITH KIM KARDASHIAN

Dolce & Gabbana has found their latest collaborative partner in none other than reality star and entrepreneur Kim Kardashian. The design duo debuted a collaboration during Milan Fashion Week with Kardashian for the spring 2023 collection. 

For the collaboration, Kardashian took archival Dolce & Gabbana pieces from the ‘90s and ‘00s and reworked them. The brand described Kardashian as “the ultimate muse.” Dolce & Gabbana and Kardashian took a cheeky approach to debuting the collaboration. Models walked the runway during the show to a video of Kardashian eating spaghetti with the sound of paparazzi cameras clicking in the background. 

The color palette of the collection included black, metallics, and leopard print, with some models selected to wear choker necklaces with letters spelling “KIM” on them. Kardashian didn’t let the models have all the spotlight on the runway, though. She took to the catwalk to close the show with a final bow alongside Dolce & Gabbana. For the momentous occasion, she wore a sparkling black form fitting gown and accessorized with a cross pendant necklace and cross silhouette earrings. 

Kardashian took to Instagram to post a video of the runway show, saying, “The last few days have felt like a dream… the most magical experience, & the pinnacle to an incredible journey I’ve been on over the last few months with Stefano, Domenico, & the entire @dolcegabbana team.”

According to Kardashian’s Instagram post, the collaboration started as a dinner conversation months ago, which turned into her going through every single look from Dolce & Gabbana from 1987 until she narrowed down to her personal favorites. Kardashian was not only invited to remake Dolce & Gabbana’s designs in her own vision, but she was also given carte blanche by the brand to create all the content, a short film, select the music, and creative direct the show working alongside the brand’s team.
