Erica Choi is the founder of Superegg and a NY-licensed esthetician. As the leading lifestyle influencer behind Egg Canvas and the former VP of Digital Design of Barneys New York, Erica has worked over a decade partnering with renowned brands in the luxury fashion, beauty, and the hospitality industry. Her skincare line was founded based on meaningful, honest values, weaving in three important themes in her life – eggs, beauty, and balance. Since an early age, Erica has been known for her smooth egg-like skin, which propelled the launching of her lifestyle platform based on self-care rituals to achieve a healthy, luminous Egg Canvas.
For Erica, eggs symbolize birth, and each new day is an opportunity to reset and start anew. Her relationship to beauty exists in fostering inner strength and grace while empowering others. Honing the needs of one’s skin requires a special set of eyes and ears, and Erica's intention of Superegg is to help users tune in more closely. AS IF: What is your idea of perfect happiness?
Erica Choi: Beautiful experiences with my loved ones. Also, clear, plumped skin like a hard-boiled egg.
What is your greatest fear?
Not having SPF on in direct sunlight.
What is the trait you most deplore in yourself?
Shyness in front of strangers, and over-flossing my teeth.
What is the trait you most deplore in others?
Arrogance, and extremely leathery skin due to years of tanning.
Which living person do you most admire?
My mother for her radiance.
What is your greatest extravagance?
My Vitsoe beauty wall.
What is your current state of mind?
Stressed but satisfied, and beautiful skin, beautiful life!
What do you consider the most overrated virtue?
Generosity, and maintaining a proper skincare regimen.
On what occasion do you lie?
When the truth will do more harm than good, and when I know explaining all my favorite products will take too much time.

It’s different every day.

It’s a secret.

Kindness, hardworking, and moisturized skin.

Self-confidence, humility, and effortless makeup.

‘Omg!’ And are you into skincare?
What or who is the greatest love of your life?
My husband Hoon, and my skincare brand Superegg.
When and where were you happiest?
In situations where I feel so small amidst nature and the universe, and my last glowing facial.
Which talent would you most like to have?
Teleportation, and the ability to regenerate my collagen with my mind!
If you could change one thing about yourself, what would it be?
Not caring so much about what others think, and never having to worry about aging.
What do you consider your greatest achievement?
Becoming an executive at Barneys New York, and working with many renowned beauty brands throughout my career.
If you were to die and come back as a person or a thing, what or who would it be?
A stunning tree that people visit to create cherished memories, and perhaps Ajitsuke Tamago, a soft-boiled egg that has been marinated in soy sauce, mirin, and other seasonings—how delicious and perfectly flawless!
