Okay, so we’re under quarantine and the city is on lockdown. However, with the expected return of our glorious island of Manhattan to the bustling metropolis it is known to be, AS IF implores you to go and checkout Nordstrom Men’s new Concept 009 at the men’s flagship store. The new project was introduced by Sam Lobban, Nordstrom’s vice president of designer ready-to-wear and new concepts. For the launch of the project Nordstrom has collaborated with famed American designer Thom Browne for a collection of thirty exclusive styles ranging from ready-to-wear, accessories, and lifestyle pieces priced from $80 to $1790. The core offering explores the athletic aesthetics inherent to Thom Browne that can be worn together or as individual statement pieces.
“We have learned more about our menswear customer with each New Concept launch. What we are excited to discover with Thom Browne is how the concept of “suiting” continues to evolve in the eyes of consumers,” said Lobban. “We have seen so many iterations of it on the runway and now we’re bringing a concept that combines traditional as well as unconventional tailoring to our broader customer base.”
“I have to say, I feel like collaborations are getting a little overdone, and the only times I ever even entertain the idea of collaboration is if it's something that's really interesting to me—and I think, in turn, interesting to the customer,” Browne said to AS IF. “So, for me it stands out in that it really is not a traditional collaboration; it's a collaboration at a level that is a lot more intellectual and not purely commercial. The approach to this collaboration is done well and intelligently. It really elevates the collections within Nordstrom stores.”
The exclusive collection will be available through May 3rd at Nordstrom.com/NewConcepts, Nordstrom Men’s Store NYC, Nordstrom Downtown Seattle, Nordstrom at The Grove in Los Angeles, Nordstrom Aventura Mall in Miami, Nordstrom South Coast Plaza in Costa Mesa, Calif., Nordstrom Michigan Avenue in Chicago, Nordstrom NorthPark Center in Dallas and Nordstrom Pacific Centre in Vancouver, B.C. For the moment being, we highly recommend online shopping, even if your city isn’t on stay-at-home orders.
