Saks Fifth Avenue kicked off its 'Fearless Women' Speaker Series with Girls star Jemima Kirke and model and activist Lauren Wasser last week.

The series is the luxury retailer’s attempt to be part of the women empowerment movement that most recently pushed British department store Harvey Nichols to change their name to Holly Nichols.

The “experience-based’ program will be a weekly series and showcase influential women in fashion, entertainment, and beyond.

The powerful lineup of speakers includes, but is not limited to, author and singer-songwriter Patti Smith, make-up artist Bobbi Brown, singer-songwriter Kim Petras, artist Cleo Wade, Co-Founder of The Women’s March Breanne Butler, and author Aija Mayrock.

"Through our Fearless Women Speaker series, Saks is shining a spotlight on women doing incredible things across a variety of fields and bringing their messages to the public. Each speaker will explore a different topic ranging from how to build a successful business and balance life as a working mom, to millennial activism and how to rally for women’s rights in today’s political climate.
