Moët & Chandon tickled the noses of New York’s fashion, art, and entertainment elite at AS IF’s celebration for the launch of The Salle Collection. The limited-edition fashion and lifestyle collection is a collaboration with celebrated Post-Modern artist David Salle, and features dresses designed by fashion designer Peter Hidalgo, as well as silk scarves, oversized decorative pillows, and two sizes of poufs.
The event was hosted at The Public Hotel in the Sophia room that is outfitted with floor to ceiling windows providing breath-taking views of lower Manhattan and beyond. The cocktail room was decorated with The Salle Collection pillows, poufs and scarves. Contemporary artist Patrick Church enjoyed a photo-op amongst the pillows. The New York Botanical Garden’s first artist -in-residence, Michele Oka Doner, made claim on her favorite silk scarf, while award-winning actress Alysia Reiner and photographer and AS IF editor-in-chief, Tatijana Shoan, mingled in show stopping Salle Collection dresses.
Guests also included artist David Salle; actor Brandon Micheal Hall; legendary rock photographer Mick Rock; AS IF Publisher, Scott Fishkind; president of Dolce & Gabbana USA, Dan Rothman; head of product development at The Whitney Museum of American Art, Lauri Freedman; top model Madisin Rian; Kilian perfume founder, Kilian Hennessy; entrepreneur Elisabeth Jones Hennessy; artist Chloe Wise; North American CEO of Audemars Piguet, Patrick Ottomani and influencers Sunhee Grinnell, JiaJia Fei and Pari Ehsan.
During the dinner between courses Shoan conducted a surprise Q&A interview with Salle much to the guests delight. They discussed the collaboration process and how it effects his artist practice, and how commercial offerings and collaborations have worked their way into the artworld.
Guests lingered long after the evening was through and stayed until the last bottle of champagne was popped. The AS IF event was co-hosted with Paddle 8 and special guest Audemars Piguet.
