Mercedes-Benz has collaborated with Off-White creative director and Louis Vuitton menswear director Virgil Abloh for a unique artwork from the infamous Mercedes-Benz G-Class, which turned 40 last year. The new initiative is titled Project Geländewagen. Abloh worked in collaboration with Mercedes-Benz chief design officer, Gorden Wagener, the partnership brings together the worlds of fashion and automotive. The objective of the collaboration is to push the boundaries of both worlds and rethink the luxury landscape.

The artwork will be digitally launched on September 8. Both Mercedes-Benz and Abloh felt compelled to help support the arts and the international creative community, which, like everything else, has been affected by the global coronavirus pandemic. A one-of-a-kind home-scale replica of the unique artwork will be auctioned off after September’s launch. All proceed will be donated to a charity that supports the arts. The winner of the model auction will also receive exclusive access to the co-creators, including a personal introduction to the inspirations behind the artwork and the creative powerhouses’ aspirations for it.
