Tennis is a centuries old sport. The globally popular sport evolved from a similar game played in the ancient Mediterranean to a similar game to what we know today played in Europe in the 1800s, and finally to the sport known today, solidified in England in the late 1800s.  

One of the things synonymous with tennis is its uniform. Tennis style has always been practical, as the uniforms must be functional to play the sport in, and have long adhered to a particular dress code. Up until November 2022, all players of all gender identities were required to wear white undergarments at Wimbledon, but the rules have been relaxed to allow players to wear sold, mid/dark-colored undershorts, provided they are no longer than their shorts or skirts.
