Christian Cowan continues to be the star child of the moment in the fashion industry. His star has caught the attention of the legendary Giuseppe Zanotti himself, who always loves seeing young talent shine. This season at New York Fashion Week, the two designers collaborated on a footwear collection that was nothing short of gold studded glamour.

The two designers had met in New York, which holds a special place in both of their hearts as it’s where they first debuted their collections to the world. Zanotti first found success and fashion stardom twenty years ago in New York City, which currently is also home to his headquarters. Cowan has found his audience of beloved fashionistas, celebrities, and influencers in the Big Apple as well, although he hails from the beautiful and delightfully British city of London.

Cowan’s big break came when he caught the attention of Lady Gaga when he was still a student at London’s Central Saint Martin’s College and London College of Fashion in 2016. His maximalist style would attract the attention of other high profile celebrities including Beyoncé, Naomi Campbell, and Nicki Minaj. His career changing moment came when Cardi B wore one of his looks on the cover of her latest album, “Invasion of Privacy.”

With a youthful take on how the modern-day women can dress; Christian Cowan uses his lively spirit and creative prowess in making his standout designs.

Having graduated from Central Saint Martins and London College of Fashion in 2016, Christian garnered a strong celebrity following before having even left school.

Christian Cowan is a finalist for the CFDA/Vogue Fashion Fund 2018.

Both Cowan and Zanotti share the motto “Make women feel amazing.” Their collaboration celebrates the boldness of both Anglo-American style and Italian glamour. For this collection, Cowan paid tribute to Zanotti by looking through the designer’s archives and selecting the “heel-less” silhouette and using his own signature gold plated watch strap.

“Working with Giuseppe Zanotti has been a dream” Cowan said. “Not only does he have the true creative flare of an artist, but he is also incredibly kind and so supportive of our combined version. As a young designer, the opportunity to be able to partner with Giuseppe has been invaluable, his advice and vision have been so helpful and I couldn’t be happier with what we have created together. The opportunity to look back at signature Giuseppe silhouettes and add my own spin on these was one I’ll always treasure. Our maximalist styles married together have created a line of shoes that will be sure to keep you watching.”

Two of the styles are see-now-buy-now, and are on sale now. The remaining styles will be available beginning in February 2019, with the addition of a men’s and women’s sneaker style.
