French casual luxury brand Faith Connexion has tapped Swizz Beats and contemporary artist Nina Chanel Abney in its first in a series of curated collaborations planned ahead.

The Grammy-award winning producer, DJ, and rapper has, who is also the catalyst behind this partnership has designed 11 capsule pieces, which were revealed during the at the brand’s Spring 2019 presentation.

The collection includes a range of hoodies, T-shirts, tracksuits and leather jackets, that feature art by Abney.

The Abney X Faith Connexion partnership comes after the African-American artist started to garner attention at Swizz Beats’ Bronx edition of his No Commission’ project, which was aimed at making art “more accessible.”

Iconic house styles are adorned with Abney’s own motifs and prints that are meant to implore the viewer to question it and come up with their own interpretations.

Abney’s colorful paintings and collages typically explore topics such as race, gender, pop culture and politics, which she describes as “easy to swallow, difficult to digest.”

“For the upcoming collection, Nina launches her capsule into the Faith Connexion universe, joining the brand’s collective of creatives, composed of designers, taggers and renowned visual artists,” the brand said in a statement. “By inviting Nina to collaborate, Faith Connexion puts a new twist on the No Commission concept: her art becomes even more accessible when transposed to the medium of the brand’s signature sportswear silhouettes.”

The Faith Connexion X Swizz Beatz capsule line will be available online and across the brand’s stores. Price points and launch dates have not been announced.
