As part of their ongoing partnership with UNICEF and in honor of World Children’s Day, Louis Vuitton launches a new Silver Lockit bracelet designed by Sophie Turner. World Children’s Day, held on November 20, marks the anniversary of the adoption of the Convention of the Rights of the Child in 1989. The day honors children and mobilizes people to help save children’s lives and fight for their rights. In continuations of its #MAKEAPROMISE campaign, Louis Vuitton invited English actress Sophie Turner to help them continue their commitment to raise awareness and funds for UNICEF to support the most vulnerable children around the world.

The bracelet was inspired by Turner’s notion of luck, and designed with braided red and white cord colors with a circular charm rabbit illustration, taken from the design of her most recent tattoo.

“The bracelet is meant to hold luck for whom the funds go to. It’s about bringing people together from all over the world because UNICEF works worldwide and Louis Vuitton is all about travel. Red is considered a lucky color in China and white coincides with the circular charm of the bracelet; a rabbit. White rabbits and rabbit-foot are considered lucky in many parts of the world,” Turner said.

By purchasing the Silver Lockit by Sophie Turner, clients will be raising funds for UNICEF, contributing efforts for children in vulnerable situations, such as the refugee camps in Cox Bazar, Bangladesh. With UNICEF assistance, the Bangladeshi government has been able to vaccinate 900,000 children and adults against cholera and save over 263,000 children from malnutrition.

Since the launch of the Silver Lockit in 2016, the partnership has raised over five million U.S. dollars for UNICEF.

The Silver Lockit, inspired by the tumbler lock invented by Georges Vuitton in 1890 to protect clients’ most precious belongings, is a symbol of protection. It was chosen as a symbol of sealing one’s promise to help children at a risk. The Silver Lockit by Sophie Turner retail $300, $100 of which is donated to UNICEF.
