Designer and lifelong vegetarian Stella McCartney has designed her very own Stan Smiths in faux leather.
Following on the existing long-term collaboration with Adidas, which initially began in 2005, the iconic shoe retains its original look but has been redesigned to be leather-free. Paying homage to Stan Smith, his face is printed on the tongue of the right shoe while Stella’s portrait and signature adorn the left foot.
“Stella stars in stripes replace the signature Addidas three stripes and are stamped running down the sides. The designer’s logo alongside the recognizable burgundy and blue stripe bands are found at the heel,” states the official press release.
Stella #stansmith will be supported by a social media campaign and in store sneaker week focused concept alongside the Loop Lab. The Loop Lab will be a dedicated display highlighting the designer’s Loop sneaker launching in August.
McCartney has been committed to cruelty free fashion since the beginning of her career. Stella #StanSmith is the first ever “vegetarian leather” Stan Smith sneaker created in collaboration with Adidas and will be available in stores on September 10th marking the designer’s birthday which falls in the same week. The shoes currently priced at $325.
